Sopivasti oli viime bemaristissa juttua ko. autosta ja sattui silmiini uutinen, että BMW Classic on rakentanut yhden yksilön jälkipolville ihmeteltäväksi. On kyllä sellainen auto joka oli aikaansa edellä ja muotoilultaan on sitä varmaan vieläkin 
BMW Classic has manage to create a replica of the 1940 Mille Miglia-winning BMW 328 Kamm Coupé.
Only a handful of units of the ultra-rare model ever existed and most came to various fates after the war. The winning Touring Coupé model found its way to America, another exemplar to Britain and one went to Russia. Only one 328 Kamm Coupé remained in Germany and that model was scrapped after a crash in 1953.
Recreating the BMW 328 Kamm Coupé, named after the German engineer Wunibald Kamm, became a project of BMW Classic over the years. In fits and starts, various recreation programs were begun and abandoned until the Munich-based automaker found the right partners to do the work in time to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Mille Miglia win.
The bulk of the work was done by René Große, who had previously restored the BMW 328 Touring Coupé and Mille Miglia Roadster for the BMW Museum. Using modern materials, such as plastic, carbon fiber and alumimum, Große came as close to recreating the famous racer as possible given that none of the original design drawings were still in existence.
The replica was handed over to BMW back in March 2010 - in time for the automaker to commemorate the classic model's storied victory.
